Recording artist Jay Formicola is back with his latest project, Soul Hammer. Formed in 2023, Soul Hammer is a band that refuses to be pigeonholed into a tidy genre. The band walks the line from roots rock and blues clean up to psychedelic tinged grunge rock with the occasional stroll through funk and R&B as well.

Soul Hammer recorded and released a six song EP of all original hard rocking alt blues titled “On the Ropes” in 2023. A new album of classic blues which is entitled simply “Blues”, is out now! You can check all of this out on your favorite streaming site or buy a CD on Bandcamp. The live show they have put together is guitar forward classic blues with an edge. You can expect to hear blues classics of the masters performed with reverence to the originals, as well as some inventive arrangements. The band also draws heavily from Jay’s “The Blues Never Felt So Good” album. Released in 2005 on Jargon Records. The album showcases Jay’s mastery of the blues and strong songwriting.
